Place the boxes containing the vinyl click planks in the room for 48 hours so that they acclimatize to the temperature and humidity (before starting work)
Make sure the floor surface to be covered is smooth, flat, dry and clean. Make sure no nail or screw heads are protruding from the surface.
Remove the baseboards and stringers at the bottom of the walls before starting work and reinstall them only at the end (it is easier to ensure that the baseboards will be above the new vinyl floor (with a 1/16 inch space).
Make sure to cut the door frame so that the vinyl planks slide underneath easily (and also for a nicer finish).
Cover the surface starting in the upper left corner of the room and install the planks from left to right.
Install them one row at a time. To avoid having small pieces of boards at the end (right) that end up at each end, cut the very first board a few inches before installing it.
Be sure to leave 1/8 inch between the first line of boards and the wall for expansion. This space will be covered by the baseboards/cords anyway.
Install the boards by inserting them into each other. To secure the boards together, use a rubber mallet.
